(well sort of ^_^) (http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=14335) Posted by Q8-Seth on 04:23:2001 11:44 AM: I've checked the long thread about the ST Advanced combos and I decided to explain some of the hard but cool tactics to combo supers or special after multi-hits. ex combo: Ryu / Ken and others crouching short x 2(or more), Dragon punch ... Now if you use the normal cancelling method you'll never be able to cancel the 2nd short. But you can LINK the DP !! and the only way to link it is by executing it by doing the DP motion + (short+any punch). I believe this is some sort of left over from the old SF2 short+fierce trick, if you check the combo frame by frame you'll notice that Ryu/Ken will cancel the last frames of the short and not the usual cancel/2n1 frames. This tactic also works with some super combos for example we all remember the babble about how japanese players used to do crossups with Ryu into 2 shorts then super combo and I think this is what they're doing linking the super by using the short+punch trick. I managed to do this twice with Ryu and I can do it very easily with Ken (because his super is instant hitting and has a shorter motion), weirdly thou Ken can also link after his c.forward using this trick ! Some flashy combos using this trick : (Ken) Cross-up forward, c.shortx2, Shoryuken/Shoryureppa Cross-up forward, S.Short !, Fierce shoryken/Shoryureppa (crouching Zangief) Cross-up Roundhouse, C.shortx4-5, DP/SC I hope this is useful for you guys and not a waste of your time Posted by DavestA on 04:23:2001 12:27 PM: heh very helpful ThX Posted by Tiger Bones on 04:23:2001 12:51 PM: very good.. lol dude i was gonna post something simlar to this on my thread when i had gone through all the characters.. impressive stuff...i think you'll have to explain yourself more clearly tho or ur gonna get a hella lot of ppl asking you to explain it again and again.. good stuff tho.. peezs.
